Fried Stewed Nude, Inc. operates Wintzell’s Oyster House in three locations in Mobile County — Historic Downtown Mobile, West Mobile, and Saraland. Founded in 1938 by J. Oliver Wintzell, Wintzell’s Oyster House is known far and wide for its “oysters—fried, stewed and nude.” What began as a six-stool oyster bar has since grown into a nationally recognized brand featured in such publications as Coastal Living, Delta Sky Magazine, Garden and Gun, Southern Living, and Willard Scott’s All-American Cookbook.
